The Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP) is one of the largest grassroots, multi-club, multi-district projects in Rotary. More than 900 Rotary clubs and 90 districts have worked together since 1997 to improve education opportunities for underserved students in Guatemala.

Over the past 29 years, more than 312,000 students have been served through four sustainable programs that are tested and proven to work.

In 2017, Rotary International President Ian Riseley called the GLP “the gold standard of Rotary projects” because of its long-term sustainability and measurable impact.

On Monday evening, Emily Swisher shared an outstanding overview and update on the Guatemala Literacy Project during the Pathways Rotary Club May Zoom meeting.
